Job Description:

We now have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Security Settlements Management Team based in Baltimore, Maryland. The North American Security Settlements team is a group of 30 on-shore FTE as well as 24 additional vendor staff based off-shore.

The core responsibility of Security Settlements (North America) is the clearance and settlement of Fixed Income and Equity Securities for North American markets.

The group facilitates the receipt and delivery of securities on trades executed with clients or broker-dealers.

To facilitate settlement, the group is required to liaise with counterparties and agents, monitor depots and failing mission queues to ensure positions are available, and problems resolved in a timely manner.

Responsibilities will include:

Develop product and process knowledge relating to daily responsibilities

Effectively meeting daily deadlines as determined by specific responsibilities within department.

Identify and mitigate risk posed to the Firm through escalation to management

Develop working relationships with peers and senior people in Trading, Support, Technology, and Operations.

Ensure internal control and external regulatory compliance policies and their impacts are understood and adhered to, i.e., segregation of duties, money-laundering rules, exchange deadlines, etc.

Continuously look for business process improvements.

Ability to understand trade flow and work with various counterparties to respond to inquiries.

Ability to reconcile trades including perform position and balance reconciliation.

Ability to provide accurate and timely responses to inquiries.

Ability to communicate clearly, via email and phone

Ability to keep accurate records associated with these transactions.

Ability to organize activities to assure timely completion and settlement of these trades.- Follow through to resolve exceptions and complete failing transactions.

Basic accounting skills.
