The Credit Analyst plays a pivotal role in ensuring the health and stability of our trade accounts receivable portfolio. Under general supervision, the Credit Analyst follows established credit policies and procedures, collaborating closely with internal teams, customers, banks, and legal counsel.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maximizing portfolio value while minimizing risk.
Responsibilities:
Perform bankruptcy and known doubtful analysis, assessing the impact on the portfolio and making strategic recommendations.
Conduct analysis on potential abandoned property accounts and make recommendations on the next steps for resolution.
Prepare and maintain credit risk assessments, determining the preliminary creditworthiness of prospective customers.
Conduct ongoing risk analysis for components of the customer account portfolio, identifying emerging risks and opportunities.
Maintain and reconcile backup and files on all known doubtful and bankrupt accounts, including court filings.
Support the establishment and maintenance of credit policy, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's Degree preferred)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit analysis or related role
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and assess credit risk
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Knowledge of bankruptcy laws and regulations preferred
Familiarity with credit scoring models and risk assessment techniques
