Senior Buyer/Planner - Manufacturing

Job Description
1. Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure timely availability of materials, components, and finished goods in accordance with production schedules and customer demand.
2. Conduct demand forecasting and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, production, and logistics, to develop accurate production plans and inventory targets.
3. Source suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to secure favorable terms, pricing, and lead times.
4. Monitor supplier performance, track delivery schedules, and resolve any issues or discrepancies to ensure on-time delivery and quality standards are met.
5. Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation.
6. Optimize inventory levels through effective inventory management techniques, such as safety stock calculation, reorder point optimization, and inventory turnover analysis.
7. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the procurement and planning functions.
8. Utilize procurement and planning tools, such as ERP systems, MRP software, and demand planning tools, to support procurement activities and maintain accurate inventory records.
9. Lead cross-functional initiatives, such as supplier development programs, cost reduction projects, and quality improvement initiatives, to drive continuous improvement in procurement and planning processes.
10. Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on procurement and planning performance, including key metrics, risks, and opportunities.

The Successful Applicant
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (5+ years) in procurement, supply chain management, or materials planning, with a focus on manufacturing or production environments.
3. Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management, supplier relationship management, and supplier performance evaluation.
4. Knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management principles, and demand planning techniques.
5. Familiarity with ERP systems, MRP software, and demand planning tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Demand Planning).
6. Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
7. Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence stakeholders.
8. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and adapt to changing business needs.
9. Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) is a plus.
10. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
What's on Offer
Target compensation for the Senior Buyer/Planner is $90,000 - $100,000 + 10% Bonus. Compensation is commensurate with candidate experience.
