Human Resource Director ~ Washington, D.C. International Media Company

$200k, hybrid work schedule, career growth, plus bonus

My client is a growing international media company located in the Washington, D.C. area, seeking a dynamic Human Resource Director to join an experienced team. The Human Resource Director is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive growing organization and will be tasked with leading all aspects of human resources including strategic and operational tasks.
The Human Resource Director will be responsible for recruiting, employee relations, payroll and benefits, and new hire onboarding and orientation. The Human Resource Generalist should have 3 years’ experience in full-cycle generalist responsibilities.
Candidates with their PHR and BS/BA in Human Resources are strongly encouraged to apply.

 •  Work with the Executive leadership team on initiatives to deepen organizational culture and

lead internal communications on Human Resource matters
 •  Implement policies and procedures to foster streamlining and more effective performance

management programs, including annual reviews and merit increase
 •  Supervisor HR staff, training and developing human resource professionals
 •  Manage labor relations with Unions, including attending union meetings and negotiations
 •  Manage the process of all employee disciplinary actions. Provide coaching and counsel as needed
 •  Responsible for employee relations and including documenting/updating employee files
 •  Compliance with State and Federal Laws

Responsibilities:

 •  Manage the process of all employee disciplinary actions, providing coaching and counsel as needed
 •  Responsible for employee relations and including documenting/updating employee files
 •  Ensure compliance with State and Federal Laws
 •  Oversee new hire onboarding and orientation process
 •  Lead full cycle recruiting efforts to attract top talent
 •  Administer payroll and benefits programs.

 •  Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar HR role
 •  Proven experience in supervising HR staff
 •  Solid understanding of Compensation Administration
 •  Demonstrated knowledge of Compliance in HR practices
 •  Experience working with C-Suite level executives
 •  Proficiency in managing Employee Relations
 •  Familiarity with Labor Law in union environment
 •  Proven ability to develop and implement HR Strategy
 •  Excellent leadership and communication skills
 •  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
 •  Professional certification in Human Resources is preferred (e.g. PHR, SPHR)
 •  Proficiency in using HR software and HR metrics
 •  Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
 •  Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
