Overview:
To help support the company’s global finance, accounting, business initiatives by managing documentation and enforcing U.S. GAAP accounting / reporting guidance for preparing adequate domestic and international financial statements.
Responsibilities:
• Support preparation of financial statement reports, statutory financial statements, and other necessary reports:
• Quarterly and Annual Reports
• Other earnings release materials
• Monthly cash flow statements
• International statutory financial statements, branch offices, other financial statements required by the Tax Department
• Prepare and coordinate the company’s footnote support for the company’s financial statements
• Review and explain balance sheet and income statement fluctuations
• Provide assistance to the external auditors
• Support and research U.S. GAAP and IFRS technical accounting guidance
• Benchmark and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, etc. regulatory reporting requirements
• Manage lease software system by maintaining up-to-date lease information and accounting for the active leases
• Prepare or review monthly general ledger reconciliations for leases, debt and equity
• Prepare and file monthly and quarterly Department of Transportation reports
• Participate in the development and interpretation of company accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Required:
• BS in Business or Accounting
• Five (5) years of experience including 3 years in public accounting
• CPA strongly preferred (with Big 4 experience a plus)
• Exceptional technical accounting base and analytical ability
• Strong computer skills in general and specifically with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Special demands:
• Technical accounting and financial reporting experience a plus
• Financial reporting software, lease software experience a plus
• IFRS experience a plus
• Airline industry experience a plus
Skills:
• Must have excellent PC skills (Excel, Word)
• Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and multitasking
• Available to work overtime as needed
• Attention to detail
• Self-motivated
• Team player
Salary Range: $85,500 - $115,500
