Collision Center / Body Shop Manager

We are looking for a strong Collision Manager who will be responsible for developing business through insurance adjusters, customers, and other sources to ensure an adequate sales volume, provide a reasonable department operating profit, and maintain certain customer satisfaction standards while controlling expenses. The selected individual will direct the activities of the body shop employees in performing body repairs, including meeting time schedules, productivity levels and maintaining quality standards. Other responsibilities include:

 •  Forecast goals and objectives for the department and meet them.
 •  Ensure harmony and teamwork with all other departments.
 •  Promote a positive attitude and create a cohesive team to take the business forward.
 •  Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the body shop.
 •  Attend manager meetings as needed.
 •  Understand, keep abreast of and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know, etc.
 •  Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all body shop staff.
 •  Direct and schedule the activities of all body shop employees.
 •  Ensure accurate estimating, costing and invoicing in the department.
 •  Provide technical assistance as needed.
 •  Ensure premises and equipment and other assets are controlled and used effectively.
 •  Conduct meetings with body shop employees to discuss/communicate activities and issues.
 •  Establish and maintain good working relationships with several insurance adjusters.
 •  Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
 •  Quality check completed on jobs.
 •  Handle all customer complaints.
 •  Keep abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommend purchases.
 •  Ensure that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept clean.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are committed to our customers but also know that our employees are the driving force behind our success. This position will manage 5-20 employees in the Service Department. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

To qualify for this position:

 •  Must be 18 years or older and be authorized to work in the U.S
 •  Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 •  Two years of experience in an auto body repair facility.
 •  Three - five years of supervisory experience
 •  Thorough knowledge of body repair methods.
 •  Excellent communication and managerial skills.
 •  Excellent manual dexterity skills as well as patience, creativity, good judgment and an eye for detail.
 •  Valid in-state driver's license.
