Responsibilities:

As Loss Control Risk Services Specialist, you'll survey moderate to high complexity business operations and consult with customers and underwriters to determine the type and level of exposures and controls needed. You will be responsible for providing consultative advice to customers to protect their business and assets (property, employee safety, fleet, equipment damage, etc).
You’ll manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders like underwriting, claims, product management, marketing and agencies.

We'll count on you for:

 •  Training Excellence: Assist in creating, preparing, and delivering specific technical training to our field risk services team.
 •  Compliance Leadership: Monitor, research, and update staff on material changes to local, state, and federal safety laws.
 •  Influence Key Decision-makers: Conduct training; mentoring; and on occasion may provide specialized technical advice and counsel to staff and customers.
 •  Business Acumen: Assist Underwriters with risk selection and ongoing account management.

Qualifications:

What you need to have:

 •  Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with a preferred emphasis in occupational/industrial safety, agricultural science, engineering or insurance; or eight years property/casualty risk control experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
 •  Ability to mentor and achieve results through others; organize and manage multiple priorities; communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
 •  Must possess problem analysis and problem resolution skills; strong customer orientation and interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills
 •  Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; company business systems and various analytical tools to evaluate data
 •  Ability to travel on a regular basis
 •  Have the flexibility to occasionally work outside normal business hours to survey clients’ operations
 •  Valid driver’s license required

What makes you stand out:

 •  Training/presentation experience desired
 •  CSP, CFPS, CDS, CIH designation preferred
 •  Completion of or working toward AINS, ARM, CPCU or similar professional insurance designation
