We are seeking a Medical Assistant (MA, CMA, RMA, CCMA, LPN) with eye care experience to:
Perform visual and diagnostic testing in both preventative and specialty eye care.
Provide a safe and comforting atmosphere for eye care patients of all ages
Prepare patients for examination, obtain vital signs, document chief complaint, medications, and allergies, and administer medications and treatments.
Promote healthy lifestyles,wellness, and education.
Minimum Requirements:
Facility Requirement:
Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in traveler's profile including resume, medefis portal, onboarding documents).
Experience:
Minimum two years experience required as Certified Medical Assistant.
Traveler must have ambulatory or clinic experience specializing in ophthalmology, optical, vision care experience. Please do NOT submit profiles that do not have this experience.
Prior traveler experience highly preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
Certified as CMA, RMA, CCMA, or LPN required.
BLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY required.
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA, CPOT, CPOA) preferred.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or
In lieu of the above requirements, two (2) years of recent Medical Assistant experience and current CMA, RMA or CCMA certification.
Reference
Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only) within the past two years.
Floating
Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.
During the travelers assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.

You will be taking a 20 strip exam to demonstrate that competency and must get an 80% on the test and correctly identify our 4 lethal rhythms (Asystole, V-Tach, V-fib, and 3rd Degree AV Block)
Attached-(Uploaded to our existing documents) is a study guide and practice test similar to what you will take on Monday.

All agency travelers must demonstrate competency in interpretation of cardiac rhythms before your orientation begins. Previous completion of PALS, ACLS, etc. is not acceptable as a demonstration of this competency. Instead, you will be expected to satisfactorily complete a 20 question test which consists of multiple choice questions and write-in rhythm identification.
You must pass with an overall score of 80% and correctly identify 100% of the 4 life-threatening rhythms for your patient population (adult or peds). If there are any questions, please refer to earlier communication from UWHC to your agency.
