JOB TITLE: FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

LOCATION:Anaheim, CA

ABOUT:A leading Commercial General Contractor based in Anaheim, specializing in restaurant and retail construction projects. Looking to continue to expand operations, we are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to join the team.

POSITION OVERVIEW:The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, and analysis for the company. This role will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and stability of the organization, providing strategic guidance to senior management, and implementing effective financial controls and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, preferably within the construction industry, and possess excellent leadership and analytical skills.

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER RESPONSIBILITIES:

 •  Oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
 •  Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
 •  Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
 •  Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and key performance indicators to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement.
 •  Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership to develop project budgets, monitor project costs, and track profitability.
 •  Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
 •  Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial analysis and support to senior management.
 •  Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial management and accounting.

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER REQUIREMENTS:

 •  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA preferred.
 •  Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
 •  Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
 •  Experience in the construction industry or related field preferred.
 •  Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar programs.
 •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
 •  Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
 •  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple priorities with ease.
 •  Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to mentor and develop staff.
