Overview:
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION:
Some construction work experience preferred. Experience may be in the following sectors: federal, state, municipal, K-12 school, water/wastewater, higher education, laboratory facilities, transportation, ports or marina projects.
Responsibilities:
MAIN DUTIES:
Project assignments including on-site representation of client, preparation of project documentation, cost estimating, scheduling, plan review, research of records. May perform a review of project records, schedules, and as-built construction to evaluate change orders and requests for extension of time.
Independently apply techniques and analyze for problems and methods. Ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Receive training, participation in company activities, and administrative duties. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
FE/EIT preferred. Knowledge of engineering principles of construction management and project controls. Knowledge of one of the following services: critical path method scheduling, cost estimating, project budgeting, delay analysis, constructibility and design review, inspections, quantity take-offs.
Must possess OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, CADD, graphics, writing capabilities, and ability to work independently.
• Ability to obtain and maintain industry certifications specific to duties assigned.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications and technical reports.
• Ability to maintain records and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to maintain favorable public relations.
• Able to stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.
• Ability to safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain.
GUIDANCE/RESPONSIBILITY: Work is closely supervised.
SUPERVISORY: Ability to supervise assistants in technical/administrative roles.
