Project Overview
Bechtel is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner on the Northrop Grumman team to deliver the Sentinel Program, which is modernizing the ground:based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure.
Bechtel's scope of service in Sentinel's current Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase focuses on the ground infrastructure component of the program.
A major contractor for the United States and allied governments, Bechtel has handled such efforts as chemical weapons demilitarization projects, missile:defense, infrastructure, base operations, procurement and project management, and restoration and recovery spanning half a century.
We use our expertise to help our customers securely and effectively transform mission delivery.
Position Summary
This position is for a Mechanical Engineer who will prepare designs for mechanical systems associated with DOD and USAF projects.The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem:solving abilities, can:do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs.
This role will specifically support the USAF Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase. The GBSD program is the weapon system replacement for the Minuteman III missile systems.Our team is supporting Northrop Grumman and the USAF's nuclear deterrence mission to modernize this ground:based leg of the nuclear triad.
Responsibilities
This role will support design development of Mechanical systems and equipment for the GBSD program project by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, data sheets, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements.Work with mechanical engineers and other technical disciplines in a team environment.
• Development design drawings and other design documents
• Perform formal calculations
• Prepare design and equipment specifications
• Develop design configuration packages for configuration control and change management
• Design Building Information Modeling and coordination with other disciplines
• Execute to schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product
• Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualifications
• Level 1 : BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related), from an accredited university, with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Level 2 : BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related), from an accredited university, with at least 3years
