Primary Responsibilities:

Oversees the EHS compliance and continuous improvement programs.

Oversees all aspects of the industrial hygiene program;
Conducts gap analysis to determine EHS priorities. Develops, implements and provides EHS training as needed;
Oversees the administration of workers' compensation program.

Identifies and suggests corrective measures to improve the site's accident experience and to implement means to achieve site EHS goals.

Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use.

Ensures that mandatory OSHA and EPA reporting is completed - i.e.: annual OSHA 300 log, notification of serious accident, Tier II reports.

Inspects facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented;
Implement and use DMS tools, visual management and continuous improvement to implement proactive, sustainable programs that drive movement towards a world-class organization;
Maintains EHS files and records;
Interacts with EHS regulatory agencies during site inspections;

Plans and implements environmental programs and prepares/submits environmental reports in compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations;
Supports the Corporate EHS program and direction; projects as assigned.

Directly supervises EHS professional on-site (planning, assigning; and directing work, appraising performance); rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Title V and ISO 14001 experience is required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is preferred in EHS or related field (science, engineering).

Eight years related experience Environmental Health and Safety within a manufacturing area and plant operations.

Proven experience with ergonomics programs, industrial hygiene, worker's compensation, accident investigations and regulatory compliance and reporting.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles (eye protection is required), fumes, machine vibration, noisy conditions (hearing protection is required), moderate to contaminated air, (respirators are required in designated areas), high temperatures and occasionally operating in a restricted work area.
Also, general office environment.
