Staff Accountant
Our client in the professional sports industry is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their tenured team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a front-row seat to how the industry works behind the scenes. This is a visible role that will have exposure to a broad range of responsibilities and aspects of the business.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Review and produce monthly Financial Statements
• Handle credit card compliance and processing
• Manage bi-weekly payroll processing, journal entries, and related reporting
• Manage the quarterly royalty payment and reconciliations
• Prepare and review sales invoices
• Oversee accounts receivable collections
• Create and update procedure documentation for all relevant processes and responsibilities
• Review bank reconciliations and act as back up preparer as required
• Manage expense report review process, ensuring compliance to policy and proper account coding
• Applicant must have at least 1 year of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar, ideally with professional sports industry experience
• BS in Accounting or business degree
• CPA or eligible candidate
• Experience with royalty revenue accounting preferred
• Candidates should be able to work professionally and effectively in a team
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required
