The Process Engineering Technician serves as support for process and manufacturing engineers. This position works with guidance of the department to proactively manage situations that adversely affect Vanguard’s manufacturing operations.

What you’ll do:

Ensure processes and equipment procedures are updated, developed, and documented appropriately.

Assist in the evaluation of capital equipment to support product specific requirements.

Provide technical training to production personnel.

Investigate quality issues to establish root cause utilizing established Vanguard processes and review Corrective Action Effectiveness.

Use Lean production concepts to support production with tooling, fixtures and/or programs that are essential to meet production time standards.

Drive continuous improvement by looking for opportunities for improvement and working projects

Coordinate and maintain assembly instruction creation, control and maintenance processes.

Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

What you’ll need:

Strong affinity for mechanical technology

Displays a high-level critical thinking and analysis

Ability to use metric and standard measuring systems and able to understand X-Y-Z coordinates.

Able to document and summarize data on a control chart and graph/results.

Problem solving, troubleshooting, project management, teamwork, proactive follow-up, relationship building, and negotiation skills.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Associates Degree in Electronic or Mechanical engineering

Five or more years’ experience in the electronic manufacturing industry.

Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and/or AS9100.

Working knowledge of IPC-610, J-STD, IPC 7711/7721, IPC-A-600, ANSI/ESD S20.20 standards.

Experience with NPI processes in electronics manufacturing services environment.

Electromechanical skills.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

Component ID training or IPC or equivalent training/certification highly encouraged.
