Overview:
DNI is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an AR Accounting Specialist. This position is responsible for generating and submitting invoices, reconciling bank and balance sheet accounts, and supporting the Accounts Receivable functions of multiple companies.
Responsibilities:
Daily duties include but are not limited to:
• Invoice Processing:
• Generate billing/revenue batches for Firm Fixed Price contracts
• Submit all invoices via online government portals
• Reconciliations:
• Reconcile bank accounts
• Reconcile accounts receivable related balance sheet accounts
• Payment Receipts:
• Enter government payments received into accounting system
• AR Aging:
• Follow up on outstanding receivables with various government entities
Periodic duties include but are not limited to:
• Support month-end close out
• Assist in the preparation and gathering of documents for internal and external audits
• Projects as assigned
Competencies:
The AR Accounting Specialist role requires someone with strong attention to detail and an ability to demonstrate a high level of accuracy in their daily work. This person must also possess organizational skills to efficiently manage daily and monthly tasks.
Communication skills are essential in order to effectively communicate with team members and external parties. This role requires team collaboration to achieve common goals. Ethical standards must also be held in all interactions and transactions within the accounting department.
Equipment/Systems:
This position requires a working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint).
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
• College degree in finance or accounting
• Minimum 2 years of proven experience in accounting or financial roles
• Minimum 2 years of experience in government contract accounting
• Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Experience with JAMIS Prime ERP software
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This job operates in a hybrid work from home/office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role that primarily requires sitting at a desk in front of a computer for long periods of time.

This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, exempt position. Typical workdays and hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
