The Assistant Controller plays a vital role in supporting the finance and accounting functions. The primary responsibility will be in overseeing the financial operations of the organization. The incumbent will work closely with various departments, helping to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and efficient financial processes to include oversight of the month-end/year-end financial statement close and the year-end audit.

 •  Review the portfolio companies they are acquiring
 •  Working on our controlled company investments
 •  Consolidation and Reporting
 •  Review financial statements from operating companies and monitor compliance
 •  Fund-level accounting for Holding Companies
 •  Assist in all aspects of management company and fund accounting including reviewing the quarterly and year-end closing process for multiple investment partnerships in collaboration with Compass deal teams.
 •  Oversee all aspects of financial reporting to limited partners, including capital calls, distributions, financial statements, and associated partners' capital accounts, in close collaboration with the firm’s external fund administrator.
 •  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
 •  Minimum 7 to 10 years' experience in a management role ideally with both public accounting and in-house experience gained in a high growth organization.
 •  Licensed CPA; Must have an active CPA license, up to date with CPE requirements.
 •  Deep-seated knowledge/understanding of GAAP/IFRS.
 •  Proven Merger & Acquisition experience
 •  Proficient in financial analysis and project accounting processes.
 •  Demonstrated excellence in judgment, analytical and problem-solving capability.
 •  Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills to present financial information clearly and concisely to different audiences.
 •  Ability to effectively interface with senior management and collaborate with team members across the organization.
