As Assistant Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient coordination and execution of logistics and transportation operations. You will be responsible for managing schedules, dispatching vehicles, communicating with drivers and clients, and resolving logistical issues in a timely and professional manner.

Responsibilities:

Dispatch Operations:

Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles, drivers, and equipment to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

Monitor vehicle locations, routes, and traffic conditions using GPS tracking systems and communication tools.

Assign tasks, routes, and delivery schedules to drivers based on priorities, deadlines, and customer requirements.

Communicate with drivers to provide instructions, updates, and any relevant information regarding routes, assignments, and customer requests.

Customer Service:

Serve as the primary point of contact for responding to inquiries, providing status updates, and addressing concerns or issues related to deliveries.

Maintain professional and courteous communication with clients, drivers, and internal stakeholders to ensure a positive customer experience.

Resolve customer complaints, discrepancies, or delivery issues promptly and effectively, escalating as needed to achieve resolution.

Logistical Support:

Coordinate with shipping/receiving departments to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.

Assist in optimizing routes, load planning, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with other departments, including operations, customer service, and maintenance, to streamline processes, address issues, and improve overall efficiency.

Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and process improvement initiatives to enhance dispatch operations and customer satisfaction.

Pay Range: $19-$25/hr

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management is a plus.

Proven experience in dispatching, logistics coordination, or transportation operations, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, including drivers, customers, and internal teams.

Proficiency in computer software and systems used for dispatching, route planning, and tracking (e.g., dispatch software, GPS, Microsoft Office Suite).

Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, problem-solve effectively, and make sound decisions in time-sensitive situations.

Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices in logistics and fleet management.

Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support 24/7 dispatch operations.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required, depending on the nature of the dispatch role.
