Position Overview:
At The Alinea Group, our HR team supports a variety of functions within the business including payroll, talent acquisition, training and employee engagement. As such, the role of Payroll Specialist is for an individual who can use their outstanding communication and organization skills to thrive in group environments and proactively brainstorm solutions to complex problems individually.
The most successful candidates see themselves as those who will safeguard a compliant, supportive environment for all employees while administering the timely and accurate completion payroll processes.
• The Payroll Specialist will report to the HR Systems and Payroll Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
• Meticulously process bi-weekly payroll utilizing Paylocity
• Uphold data integrity by regularly supporting internal and external audits of employee, company and vendor information
• Act as a payroll liaison by sending payroll reports and resolving all HRIS-related questions (on & offsite)
• Maintain complete and accurate audit trails for employee records
• End-to-end communication & data entry for the following additional processes:
• Time off/sick requests, worker’s compensation, employment verifications, garnishment, unemployment reports and ACA/benefits administration
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1-2+ years experience in an office environment
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills
• Experience with Paylocity is a plus
• Experience running complex payroll or managing projects from start to finish
• Prior knowledge of ACA regulations, DOL laws, and Illinois employment law
