Job Overview::
Due to Company growth, we are actively seeking an experienced Substation Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Waltham, MA.
Responsibilities & Duties::
• Detailed design for transmission or distribution system protection to include relays, communication and monitoring systems, panel meters, control house panels, cables and associated wiring materials
• AC and DC schematics and breaker controls
• Development of operating and elementary diagrams
• Development and review of protection schemes and devices
• Development and issuing of temporary (mobile) transformer settings
• Conducting electric system modeling and short circuit analyses
• Determination of equipment interrupting ratings
• Relay coordination studies
• Civil structural and construction design, engineered shoring plans, engineered traffic plans
• Distribution electrical design (including but not limited to one-lines, construction events)
• Evaluation of electrical systems for necessary upgrades for interconnection
• Specification and procurement of equipment and material
• System Protection & Control (SP&C) Design including the creation of SP&C construction drawing packages and the procurement of materials
• Provide engineering assistance during testing and commissioning
Qualifications & Skills::
• Three (3) years or more of Power System Engineering experience with a minimum of 4+ years specifically focus on design for protection and control (P & C)
• Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering
• IEC61850 standards knowledge
• Knowledge and experience with ProjectWise Drawings
• Experience using AutoCAD and PLS-CADD
• Experience writing design criterion and installation specifications for projects
• Skills in developing single-line switching and protection diagrams as well as three-line and DC schematic diagrams
