Overview:
Trellis Services is currently hiring Instructors to work in our Summer Program.
In this role, you will work in a 1:1 or 3:1 ratio with children between the ages of 8-21 diagnosed with autism. You will assist the child with arts/crafts, play games/puzzles and go on community outings. The Program is open Monday through Friday 9:00am-4:00pm in June and August and 12:00pm-6:00pm in July.
The Program is located in Bel Air/Edgewood--right off I-95. This position is ideal for someone who wants to make a difference in the life of a child! Flexible hours, great pay ($18/hr) and participation in our 401K plan! Great entry level positon and resume builder for someone looking to start their career in Special Education!
**MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 100 HOURS OF EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH INDIVIDUALS WITH DELAYS
Responsibilities:
As a Trellis autism instructor, you will work under the supervision of one of our experienced Case Managers and gain experience using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
• Provide 1:1 or 3:1 support with community independence and recreation/leisure activities
• Flexible schedules
• Ability to advance into other roles at Trellis
• Great foundation for a career in special education and related fields

• Meet the minimum age requirement of 18
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• The ability to pass a background check.
• Minimum 100 hours of working/volunteer/personal experience with individuals with developmental delays
• Reliable transportation/Valid Driver's License/Current Auto Insurance
Physical requirements vary and are based on specific client assignments. You may be asked to engage in any of the following: push, pull, lift up to 35 pounds, and move quickly, according to client needs. It is necessary to be able to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, and run.
