Head of Agency (Commerce Media)
We're hiring a Head of Agency (Commerce Media) to own and grow programmatic revenue across the largest agency holding companies in the US. This is a net-new, high-visibility role reporting directly into the SVP of Revenue. You will be the commercial face of Fluent's commerce media network to GroupM, Publicis, IPG, Omnicom, Dentsu, and Havas — building relationships at the investment, programmatic, and commerce media practice levels within each.
This is not an account management role. This is a hunter role with a clear mandate: secure $50M+ in annual agency holding company commitments across Fluent's commerce media network. You will build the holdco framework from the ground up — developing the pitch, navigating internal agency buying structures, and closing upfront and programmatic guaranteed deals at scale.
What You'll Do- Build and manage senior relationships across all six major holding companies at the programmatic investment and commerce media practice levels
- Own the full sales cycle from network pitch to IO execution for programmatic demand flowing through Fluent's commerce media network
- Develop and close annual upfront and programmatic guaranteed commitments with holdco trading desks
- Partner with product and yield teams to translate advertiser demand signals into supply and pricing strategy
- Represent Fluent at key industry events (Cannes, ANA, IAB, ShopTalk) as a commerce media thought leader
- Build the playbook for how Fluent sells programmatically at scale — this role will grow a team around it
- 12+ years in programmatic media sales, with direct holding company coverage at a senior level
- Deep existing relationships at GroupM, Publicis, IPG, or equivalent — you should be able to call three holding company leads this week
- Fluency in how programmatic guaranteed, PMP, and open exchange inventory is bought and planned within agency holding structures
- Deep commerce media fluency — you understand what performance advertisers are trying to solve, how to frame non-endemic demand, and why post-transaction is among the highest-intent surfaces in digital media
- Demonstrated track record of securing large-scale holdco commitments — a clear path to $50M+ in annual agency revenue is the expectation, not the aspiration
- Comfortable operating in a high-growth, build-it-as-you-go environment — this is not a mature sales org; you'll be building infrastructure while closing
