Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Inpatient Rehab position in Macon, GA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of inpatient rehab or med-surg experience and an active GA or compact RN license.
Details- 58-bed standalone rehab hospital located approximately 5-6 miles from the main hospital campus
- 33-bed inpatient rehab unit with a typical census of 25-33 patients
- Patient population includes post-op ortho (amputations, external fixators, joint replacements), post-CABG, traumas (MVAs, GSWs, falls), general debilitation, wounds requiring wound vac therapy, and long-term IV antibiotics; occasional hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis patients
- Patient ratio of 1:5-7 (RN/LPN), supported by 1-3 CNAs per shift
- 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation of approximately 5-6 shifts per 6-week schedule cycle
- No on-call requirements
- Floating between Rehab Unit 1 and Unit 2
- EMR: Epic; IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis; monitors: Philips
- Unit equipment includes VS3 vital sign monitors, Dynamap portable vital sign monitors, bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, and suction machines
- Active RN license in GA (or compact license) currently in hand
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient rehab or med-surg experience; inpatient rehab knowledge required
- Proficiency in wound care, dressing changes, wound vac therapy, drain management, peripheral IV starts and maintenance, ostomy care, and IV antibiotic administration
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Support staff includes CNAs, a unit secretary, charge RN, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy (24/7), and a hospitalist (daytime, on-call overnight)
- Orientation consists of 1 day of facility orientation with educational modules followed by 2 days of departmental orientation
- Holiday coverage required: one shift for Thanksgiving Day or the day after, one shift for 12/24 or 12/25, and one shift for 12/31 or 1/1
- RTO requests must be approved by the unit manager
- Scrub color: Navy blue for RNs

- Candidates who have previously held a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
