Project Manager - Interiors/Carpentry

This established Interiors and Carpentry subcontractor has been successfully operating in the New Jersey and New York commercial construction market for 20 years. The business was founded by an industry veteran with nearly two decades of experience at major general contractors and comes from a family with more than 80 years of construction leadership in New Jersey.
Job Description- Manage full lifecycle of interior construction projects from pre‑construction through closeout
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and submittals for accuracy and scope alignment
- Develop schedules, procurement plans, and project documentation
- Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, field teams, and subcontractors
- Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and profitability performance
- Conduct periodic site visits to ensure quality, progress, and safety compliance
- Prepare and manage RFIs, change orders, punch lists, and closeout documentation
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and design teams
- Maintain strong relationships and ensure exceptional client experience across all phases

The Successful Applicant
A successful Project Manager should have:
- 4-7+ years of experience as a Project Manager with an interiors, drywall, carpentry, or specialty subcontractor
- Strong understanding of interior construction means, methods, and sequencing
- Ability to interpret drawings, specs, and shop drawings
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Self-directed, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Base salary ranging from $105,000 to $125,000 USD.
