Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (Step-Down/PCU) position in Indiana, working nights on a 12-week contract with every-other-weekend requirements.
Details- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down setting within a hospital environment
- Patient population spans all ages, from infancy through geriatric
- Night shift schedule: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (1830–0700)
- 3 nights per week, 12 hours per shift
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required
- Floating to other departments may be required if staffing needs are met
- 12-week contract
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Indiana or a compact state license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs across all patient populations
- Proficiency or ability to be trained in relevant computer systems and clinical applications
- Implements the full nursing process — assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients
- Collaborates with an inter-professional care team to coordinate transitions of care and optimize patient outcomes
- Participates in unit-based and hospital shared governance councils and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Serves as a resource and role model for colleagues, including supporting orientation of new staff members
- Previous nursing experience is preferred but not required — first-time travelers are welcome to apply
