Staff Pharmacy Technician
We are seeking an experienced Staff Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations and provide high-quality, patient-centered service. The Pharmacy Technician will assist with prescription processing, medication preparation and distribution, insurance billing, inventory management, medication adherence, and pharmacy compliance activities while working closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.

- Pharmacy Technician will be assigned one of the following shifts
- Monday- Friday:
- 9:30AM - 6:00PM
- 10 AM - 6:30PM
- Saturday ( 1-2 times a month)
- 8-4
Pay Rate: $16.10/hour
Key Responsibilities- Enter prescriptions, patient demographics, insurance information, and other patient data accurately into the pharmacy system.
- Process prescription refills and conduct outbound medication adherence calls.
- Select and prepare medications and related supplies based on pharmacist-verified prescriptions.
- Identify and appropriately handle refrigerated, hazardous, specialty, and other medications requiring special storage or handling.
- Resolve insurance-related issues and assist patients with financial assistance programs.
- Perform insurance adjudication, test claims, medication billing, telephone support, filing, and other clerical duties.
- Assist with medication delivery programs, including Meds-to-Beds, home delivery, shipping, and clinic delivery.
- Maintain appropriate medication inventory levels and assist with purchasing and inventory control.
- Monitor medication expiration dates and conduct routine pharmacy storage and floor inspections.
- Support quality assurance, continuous quality improvement, medication-error reduction, and productivity initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with USP , , and requirements as applicable.
- Follow all applicable federal and state regulations regarding medication dispensing, storage, handling, controlled substances, and medication safety.
- Support compliance with 340B program requirements and specialty pharmacy accreditation standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-services, continuing education, and departmental training.
- Protect patient confidentiality and consistently demonstrate professional, patient-centered customer service.
- Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned.
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- New Jersey Pharmacy Technician registration/credentials as required.
- Previous pharmacy technician experience required; hospital, specialty, 340B, or health-system pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with pharmacy computer systems, prescription data entry, insurance adjudication, and medication billing.
- Knowledge of medication handling, storage, inventory control, and pharmacy safety practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately process prescriptions and patient information.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment and collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy staff.

Pay Details: $16.10 per hour
