Travel PICU Registered Nurse – 13-week assignment in Durham, NC. Seeking PICU/Pediatric CVICU RNs with PALS, BLS, and Epic experience.

Job Details- Location: Durham, NC 27710 (Raleigh–Durham area)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
- Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 – $2,010
- Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents
- Unit Size: 20 beds, average daily census of 20
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes, as needed
- Orientation: Bi-weekly, 36 hours
- Role Type: Travel RN / PICU Registered Nurse – pediatric critical care nursing job
- Minimum 1 year of recent PICU or Pediatric CVICU RN experience required (pediatric critical care nurse experience preferred)
- Active North Carolina RN license or Compact RN license in hand
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required at time of submission
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred (Epic documentation experience a plus)
- Previous charge, community hospital, LTAC, and trauma level I/II experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- One supervisory reference from the past year required
- First-time travel nurses welcome — travel nurse and travel RN candidates encouraged to apply
- Deliver high-quality, family-centered care to critically ill pediatric patients, including those with complex congenital heart conditions
- Manage advanced therapies and equipment such as VADs, ECMO, CRRT, ventilators, and arterial lines
- Administer medications, blood products, and specialized treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor and interpret vital signs, hemodynamics, and laboratory results; implement timely interventions
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including respiratory therapists, pharmacists, social workers, and physicians
- Document patient care accurately using the Epic EMR system
- Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing education modules to maintain clinical competency
- Float to other units as needed and provide weekend coverage every other weekend
- Work in a high-acuity pediatric critical care environment and expand your PICU clinical skills
- Gain experience with advanced therapies (ECMO, VAD, CRRT) and complex pediatric cases
- Supportive interdisciplinary team and structured orientation for travel RNs
