Duration: 10 Months

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Consultant with a strong focus on data governance and data management to support the development of an operational data management system. This role will contribute to building governance frameworks, defining data processes, and establishing quality standards to support a modern, data-driven regulatory environment.

This is a contract position designed to support a specific initiative and does not represent an ongoing operational role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework aligned with regulatory operations
  • Define processes for identifying and onboarding new data arising from policy or legislative changes
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to support reporting, assurance, and strategic planning
  • Design and implement data quality assurance and control processes
  • Create documentation and transition materials to support internal adoption
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective data management practices
Work Arrangement
  • Primarily remote, with occasional in-office meetings as required
  • Expected in-office presence approximately once per quarter
  • Standard working hours: 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM (Alberta Time), Monday to Friday
  • Work must be performed within Alberta
  • Travel requirements (if any) will be communicated in advance

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • University degree in business, management, or a related discipline with 4+ years of relevant experience
  • OR a two-year diploma with 6+ years of relevant experience
  • OR a one-year certificate with 7+ years of relevant experience

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience
  • Experience in leadership and/or facilitation roles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (5+ years)
  • Experience with system development methodologies and application lifecycle (5+ years)
  • Experience working with stakeholders on IT application development and maintenance (10+ years)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as CAPM, PMP, PgMP, or CMC (or equivalent)
  • Experience managing projects in large, complex organizations (5+ years)
  • Experience in digital transformation or digital delivery initiatives (5+ years)
  • Experience leading large-scale technology change across organizations (5+ years)
  • Experience developing business cases across strategic and IT initiatives (5+ years)
  • Experience creating communication plans (5+ years)
  • Experience developing information management policies, standards, and practices (5+ years)
