Job Summary:

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Journeyman Electrician in Washington, DC for a Temporary Assignment. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 26 position. The Journeyman Electrician will provide services to include performing maintenance and repair of equipment at General Services Administration (GSA) Operations.

The duration on this temporary assignment is for approximately 3 months

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will be required to perform preventative maintenance, service calls, read and understand blueprints, inspections, and supervise subcontractors. Troubleshooting skills a must.
  • Will utilize knowledge of motors, switchgear, emergency generation, UPS, fire, HVAC, and related electrical building systems.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician (DC, MD and VA)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in performing operation and maintenance tasks in a government or commercial office environment
  • Must be proficient in the use of Electricians tools such as meters etc.
  • Must have general knowledge of motors, switchgear, emergency generation, UPS, fire, HVAC, and related electrical building systems.
  • Be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of an Electrician

Physical Demands:

  • Work requires an abundance of walking, bending, Kneeling, and working in uncomfortable positions.
  • Must be able to move/lift heavy objects, climb vertical ladders, work at heights
