Key Responsibilities of a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor:

• Oversee all daily fleet maintenance and repair activities
• Ensure efficient shop workflow and minimal vehicle downtime
• Schedule, assign, and prioritize work for technicians and shop staff

• Recruit, train, and supervise maintenance personnel
• Promote a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work environment

• Address customer and internal stakeholder inquiries professionally
• Resolve concerns promptly while maintaining high service standards

• Manage inventory of parts, tools, and shop supplies
• Order materials and equipment as needed to support operations

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant shop environment

• Monitor shop expenses and manage operating budgets
• Prepare reports and track key performance metrics

• Ensure all vehicle maintenance and repairs meet quality and safety standards
• Manage vehicle licensing and registration renewals
• Schedule and coordinate all state inspections
• Prepare vehicle damage estimates and work with outside appraisers as needed

Qualifications of a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor:

• Experience: Prior experience in a transportation or automotive maintenance environment; supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication abilities
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; automotive certifications or technical training a plus
• Knowledge: Solid understanding of vehicle maintenance, repair procedures, and shop operations
