Travel Nurse Assignment Details- Location: New Haven, CT (06510) — Connecticut travel nurse opportunity, ideal for cardiovascular OR nurses)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,580 – $2,720
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:30)
- On-Call: Two calls per Monday–Friday week (either 7pm–11pm or 7pm–7am); one day per week available to stay late
- Weekend Requirement: Two 24-hour calls per schedule
- Setting: Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center (high-acuity cardiac surgery unit)
- Unit: Cardiac/Vascular Operating Room (CVOR) — cardiovascular OR nurse role
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Charting: Epic electronic health record
- Scrub Color: Provided
- Parking: $125/month
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR Registered Nurse experience (1.5 years accepted with Level I trauma center or travel experience)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Connecticut license must be active prior to start; pending CT license accepted
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Must be able to independently scrub and circulate complex cardiac surgery cases
- Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations (cardiac surgery experience preferred)
- 1 professional reference required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Not accepting local candidates — must reside more than 75 miles from facility (travel nurse candidate requirement)
- Scrub and circulate independently for complex cardiac surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacements, aortic aneurysm repairs, and TAVR
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and perioperative team to ensure safe, effective patient care in a fast-paced CVOR environment
- Provide safe, compassionate perioperative care to adult and geriatric cardiac surgery patients
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergent cases as required
- Float within scope to meet facility needs when necessary
- Accurately document perioperative care using Epic EHR
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance standards
