Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least 2 years of experience, telemetry skills, and comfort working with a gender-affirming surgical patient population.
Details- Hospital-based Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Patient population includes those undergoing gender affirmation surgery; comfort with this population is required (prior experience preferred but not required)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6
- Telemetry monitoring skills are required for this unit
- Night shift schedule: 18:30–07:00 (3x12-hour shifts)
- Every other weekend requirement
- Required to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Cerner EMR used; experience preferred
- No on-call requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
- Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms
- 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
- Prior travel assignment experience preferred; first-time travelers with strong Cerner proficiency and excellent references will be considered
- May come into contact with COVID-positive patients
- Flu vaccine is required for all staff at this facility
- Scrubs are not provided; navy blue color required
- Holiday coverage required for 2 out of 3 winter holidays, plus additional holidays during the contract
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are eligible to apply; a local pay rate may apply
