We're looking for a Senior UX Designer to join the Kindle UX Design team - a group of passionate designers, researchers, and builders united by a single mission: to enable customers to read more. In this position, you'll own the end-to-end design of Kindle reading experiences - from early concept to launch. You'll translate complex customer problems into clear, elegant solutions and bring them to life through wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.

You'll work collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers and other designers, grounding every decision in customer insight and data.

We're looking for someone with at least 8 years of UX design experience, a strong portfolio of end-to-end product work, fluency in tools like Figma, and experience using AI in the design process. Experience designing for consumer hardware or mobile platforms is important, and a background in reading apps, content discovery, or e-readers is a meaningful plus.
You'll regularly present work to stakeholders and senior leadership, so the ability to tell a clear, compelling story about your design decisions is essential. Preferred candidates will also bring a demonstrated ability to think beyond individual features - recognizing patterns, anticipating downstream effects, and designing with the whole system in mind, creating solutions that are scalable, coherent, and resilient as the product evolves.

Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate and elevate the design process is strongly preferred, whether for research synthesis, rapid ideation, workflow efficiency, or prototype creation.

Beyond the work itself, we're looking for someone who wants to contribute to a team culture built on inclusion, curiosity, and craft - mentoring junior designers and championing the customer perspective every step of the way.

Key job responsibilities
  • Collaborate and work closely with product management, engineering, and research from design concept to design solution, setting UX guidelines and driving cross-team collaboration and sharing, as well as establish best practices for interaction models and user interface designs throughout the team.
  • Work in a start-up style environment, where iteration is encouraged and design acumen is demonstrated through design end-to-end product ownership.
  • Communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization through excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Earn trust with product managers to develop shared vision and use research and data to identify opportunities and inform decisions. - 8+ years of design experience
  • Have an available online portfolio
  • Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities- Experience designing scalable, interconnected solutions that account for how decisions ripple across a broader product ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate the design process, whether for research synthesis, rapid ideation, or workflow efficiency.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
