Schedule & Shift Details
  • Shift: Night Shift – 3x12 hours (36 hours/week)
  • Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (post-training)
  • Training Period:
  • Monday–Friday
  • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Approximately 4 weeks
  • Note: Shift assignments may vary based on facility needs during the assignment

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with Behavioral Health experience to join a psychiatric care setting in Syracuse, NY. This role involves delivering high-quality nursing care to patients in a structured behavioral health environment, ensuring safety, stability, and therapeutic support.

The ideal candidate is clinically strong, adaptable, and experienced in managing patients with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications, injections, IV therapy, and tube feedings
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and behavioral changes
  • Record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
  • Perform venipuncture and collect lab specimens (if certified)
  • Provide wound care, dressings, and other physician-ordered treatments
  • Assist patients with daily living activities including hygiene, feeding, and mobility
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic care environment
  • Supervise and support LPNs, Graduate Nurses, and direct care staff
  • Delegate tasks and evaluate care delivery outcomes
  • Conduct patient rounds and assess ongoing care needs
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and external providers
  • Assist with discharge planning and patient advocacy
  • Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Support nursing leadership with reporting and operational activities
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License – State of New York
  • Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health or Psychiatric nursing experience
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
  • Strong clinical judgment and patient assessment skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and patient needs
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in psychiatric or state-operated behavioral health facilities
  • Prior charge nurse or supervisory experience
  • Experience working within interdisciplinary behavioral health teams
  • Background in residential or community-based care settings
Certifications & Licensure
  • RN License – New York (Required)
  • BLS Certification (Required)
