Construction Project Manager, Indianapolis Market Launch

About Our Client

Our partner is a St. Paul-based General Contractor and Design/Build firm that launched their Indianapolis market about 18 months ago, already securing multiple projects through a strong local partnership. They focus on commercial work-primarily retail-with projects averaging $15-$20M, offering the chance to join a growing team backed by a solid backlog and the resources of an established contractor.

• Lead ground-up commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and overall financial performance
• Oversee subcontractor selection, contracts, and on-site coordination
• Drive project timelines to ensure milestones and deadlines are met
• Collaborate with clients, architects, and internal teams to align expectations
• Review drawings/specs and proactively resolve design or constructability issues
• Monitor jobsite safety, quality control, and compliance standards
• Track and manage change orders, RFIs, and project documentation
• Provide regular project updates, reporting, and stakeholder communication
• Mentor and support field teams to ensure successful project execution

• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in commercial construction
• Proven experience leading ground-up commercial projects, ideally $15M+
• Strong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, and project controls
• Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and on-site teams
• Knowledge of construction safety standards and quality control processes
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
• Strong communication and leadership skills for client and team collaboration
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Familiarity with commercial construction software and project documentation systems
