Job Summary:
The Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist is tasked with conducting a range of diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures in Angio Interventional Radiology or Neuro IR services. This includes procedures such as extra-cranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, spinal injections, myelograms, cisternograms, embolizations, cryoablations, coilings, and clot retrievals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for IR and neurointerventional procedures, including discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations.
- Offer technical support and clinical assistance, both sterile and non-sterile, for neurointerventional procedures including tumor, epistaxis, and spinal lesion embolization.
- Operate advanced imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols for patient procedures.
- Ensure safety standards and radiation safety practices are consistently adhered to.
- Instruct students and residents, performing preceptor duties when needed.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on equipment.
- Assist in maintaining supply inventory for all IR and neuro IR procedures.
- Use information systems for IR scheduling.
- Review coding procedures to ensure accurate billing of procedures.
- Stay updated with new techniques and technology through lectures, seminars, and educational readings.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
- Comply with all hospital policies and procedures related to incident reporting.
- Perform other related duties as required.
