We are seeking an Associate Scientist II to support large molecule/biologics product development and stability studies within a cGMP-regulated laboratory environment. This role is responsible for performing analytical testing, supporting method development activities, and generating accurate laboratory documentation while adhering to regulatory and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific foundation in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related life sciences discipline and possess the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Location: Kansas City, Missouri

Position type: Minimum 6-month temp/contract role (possible extension)

Schedule: Fully On-Site | Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Pay Rate: $26.00/hour

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Testing & Analysis
  • Perform analytical testing of biologics and large molecule samples under cGMP guidelines
  • Execute compendial assays including:
  • Appearance
  • pH
  • Osmolality
  • Particulate measurements
  • Viscosity testing
  • Perform testing using:
  • Karl Fischer
  • UV-Vis spectroscopy
  • HPLC/UPLC techniques and methods including:
  • SEC
  • IEX
  • RP-HPLC
  • HIC
  • Peptide mapping
  • Glycan analysis
  • Conduct aggregation testing including:
  • MFI
  • AUC
  • SEC-MALS
  • Perform capillary and gel electrophoresis techniques including:
  • CE-SDS
  • SDS-PAGE
  • icIEF
  • IEF
  • Western blot
  • Support testing using:
  • FTIR
  • Circular Dichroism (CD)
  • Intrinsic Fluorescence
  • DSC
  • Assist with additional analytical technologies and methodologies as assigned
Documentation & Compliance
  • Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with strong attention to detail
  • Maintain accurate, legible, and compliant laboratory documentation under cGMP standards
  • Assist with drafting simple methods, method forms, and result reports
  • Adhere to laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory procedures
  • Operate laboratory equipment in a safe and compliant manner
Team & Operational Support
  • Train on and perform testing methods and laboratory techniques as assigned
  • Support ad hoc testing requests and laboratory activities
  • Contribute to a collaborative, quality-focused laboratory environment
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related Physical Science field required
  • No prior work experience required
  • Internship, academic research, or laboratory experience preferred
