Job Description

Lead design and engineering of overhead transmission lines (69kV-500kV+)
Perform and review:
Line routing and siting
Structure spotting and loading trees
Sag & tension calculations
Foundation design coordination
Utilize tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER
Review drawings, calculations, and technical specifications
Ensure compliance with NESC, ASCE, and client standards
Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers/designers
Support construction teams with engineering guidance and issue resolution

You could support a variety of high-impact projects such as:

345kV & 500kV greenfield transmission line builds across the Midwest
Grid hardening and resiliency upgrades for major utility clients
Reconductoring and rebuild programs for aging infrastructure
Renewable interconnection projects (wind/solar tie-ins to grid)
Multi-state transmission expansions supporting regional grid operators (MISO/SPP)

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Transmission Line Engineer should have:

6+ years of transmission line engineering experience
Strong expertise in HV/EHV line design (115kV-500kV preferred)
Proficiency in PLS-CADD suite
Experience with structural loading, sag/tension, and line optimization
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering
PE license preferred (or ability to obtain)
