Location: Austin, Round Rock, or Dallas Texas
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide strategic leadership and oversight for complex, high-profile roadway and transportation projects. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects or large, multi-disciplinary teams, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring successful delivery of major contracts and programs.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who demonstrates strong leadership, business acumen, and technical expertise in roadway design and project execution.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee multiple roadway projects or large, complex assignments.
- Serve as the primary client contact for major contracts and key accounts.
- Manage scopes, budgets, schedules, and quality control processes across multiple teams.
- Develop and implement project management best practices within the Road Group.
- Mentor and coach Project Managers and Deputy Project Managers.
- Lead business development efforts, including proposal writing, interviews, and client presentations.
- Collaborate with Group Leaders and executives on strategic pursuits and workload planning.
- Monitor financial performance and profitability across assigned projects.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, AASHTO, and other applicable standards.
- Identify risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Participate in staff performance reviews and contribute to team development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
- 12–18 years of progressive experience in roadway and transportation project management.
- Proven record managing large DOT or municipal transportation projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing multi-office, multi-discipline project teams.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and in writing.
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching as required.
- Ability to lift up to 10–15 pounds.
- Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality.
