Job Summary
The Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under the supervision of a physician in the Angio Interventional Radiology or Neuro Interventional Radiology services.This includes procedures such as extra-cranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, spinal injections, embolizations, cryoablations, coilings, and clot retrievals. The role serves a diverse group of customers, including healthcare employees, medical staff, patients, and regulatory agencies, with a strong emphasis on customer service.
Job Responsibilities- Provide technical support for all interventional radiology (IR) and neurointerventional procedures, including discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations.
- Assist in both sterile and non-sterile neurointerventional procedures, such as tumor, epistaxis, and spinal lesion embolization.
- Operate advanced imaging equipment while adhering to established guidelines and imaging protocols for interventional and neurointerventional patient procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices related to radiation safety.
- Instruct students and residents, fulfilling preceptor duties as necessary.
- Perform quality assurance checks on imaging equipment.
- Assist in the maintenance of supply inventory for all IR and neuro IR procedures.
- Utilize information systems for IR scheduling and management.
- Review coding procedures to ensure accurate billing of all neuro IR and IR procedures.
- Engage in continuous learning through lectures, seminars, and educational materials to master new techniques and technologies.
- Adhere to accepted clinical principles, methods, and procedures while supervising all interventional diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all hospital policies regarding incident reporting.

Education and Certification Requirements
Required Education: Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- New York State license as Radiologic Technologist.
- ARRT(R).
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
Scheduling Notes
This position is scheduled for 13 weeks, with shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. On-call responsibilities are required every other weekend.
