Join a leading acute-care hospital in Seattle, WA, as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN). This is an exciting opportunity for experienced RNs looking to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. We are seeking dedicated professionals with high-risk experience who are ready to provide exceptional care to mothers and newborns.
As a Labor and Delivery RN, you will be responsible for:
- Providing care to midwifery clients and private OB patients.
- Supporting adult recovery services and community care clinics.
- Functioning in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continuing care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum.
- Administering medications such as Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate, and performing newborn assessments including eye care and Vitamin K injections.
- Floating to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care as needed.
Key qualifications include:
- 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery, with high-risk experience preferred.
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP.
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate.
- Experience with EPIC HARDSTOP and electronic fetal monitoring is valued.
The unit operates with an average daily census of 15 patients and handles 500-600 deliveries per month, with 31 beds available. Schedules are posted every 6 weeks to meet the unit's needs, and you will be expected to work every other weekend and holidays as needed.
