Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse in Seattle, WA. This is an exciting opportunity for RNs with a passion for maternal and newborn care. We are seeking dedicated professionals for a contract position in a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care for midwifery clients and private OBs, supporting adult recovery services and community care clinics.
- Function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery, continuing care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum.
- Float to sister facilities that do Mother/Baby care as needed.
- Administer medications and perform newborn assessments, including administering Vitamin K injections.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, following AWHONN guidelines.
Requirements:
- 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with high-risk experience preferred.
- Must have experience with electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC HARDSTOP.
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP; preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate.
- Availability to work every other weekend and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to float between units and facilities as required.
This contract position is for 8 weeks with a night shift schedule of 4x12 hours. The average daily census is 15 patients, with approximately 500-600 deliveries per month. The unit features 31 beds and 4 operating rooms.
